Test
The clinical depression is a psychiaric disorder with symptoms that last two weeks or more. This is a preliminary test for depressive symptoms that does NOT replace a formal psychiatric evaluation. Answer with a simple “yes” or “no”. If in doubt, make your best guess and don’t leave any questions unanswered.
- Do you feel sad?
- Do you feel like a failure or that people don’t like you anymore?
- Do you lack energy? Feeling tired?
- Unable to concentrate?
- Do you feel that things always go wrong no matter what you do?
- Are you feeling restless or irritable?
- Can’t sleep or eat?
- Do you think about death (often)?
- Do you get a panicky feeling for no good reason?
- Can’t enjoy the activities that you used to?
- Feeling that you lost interest in sex or having sexual difficulties?
- Do you feel guilty without a reason?
If the answer is Yes to three or more questions, it is likely that you suffer from depression and it is advised to seek a psychiatric consultation.
